What "for travel" actually means

A travel currency converter is not the same as a finance app. You don't want push notifications about EUR/USD moving 0.3%. You don't want a portfolio. You want to know whether the dinner tab is reasonable, what 80,000 of the local currency is in the money you actually understand, and whether the souvenir is worth haggling for.

Before the trip

  • Pin the currencies for every leg of your trip.
  • Open the app on your home Wi-Fi to cache rates.
  • Glance at the timestamps so you know they're fresh.

During the trip

  • Convert in real time at restaurants and markets.
  • Refresh in seconds whenever you find Wi-Fi.
  • Trust the timestamp — it tells you when to refresh.

Between destinations

  • Add a new currency in seconds when you change country.
  • Reorder your list to match where you actually are.
  • Use cached rates on the flight home if you need them.

Why a travel-focused converter instead of a general one?

Generic currency apps are full of features travelers don't need: charts, watchlists, crypto tabs, push notifications about market moves. We strip those away. The home screen shows the few currencies you pinned for this trip, in the order you want them, with a calm keypad and clear timestamps.

Will it work in countries I haven't set up yet?

Yes. The app has the full ISO 4217 list, so once you arrive somewhere unexpected you can search for the new currency, pin it, and you're ready to go. If you allow location, the app will offer to set the local currency for you automatically.

Does it handle multiple destinations on one trip?

Yes. Pin every currency for the trip — yen for Tokyo, won for Seoul, baht for Bangkok — and reorder them by leg. The conversion screen always shows your home currency as the anchor.

Does it cover small countries and rare currencies?

The app supports all major travel currencies and the full ISO list. Rates for smaller currencies are sourced from the same provider; some less-traded currencies update less frequently than the majors, which the timestamp on each conversion makes clear.
